Upon realizing that 3 out of 4 moms believe marketers have no idea what it’s like to be a mother, Katherine envisioned and pioneered a new global division of The Martin Agency called The Mom Complex. Utilizing cutting-edge research methodologies, The Mom Complex is now making it easier for companies around the world to develop products, services, and advertising for the way moms really live.

Katherine lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband and two children, and she has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Mintel’s annual Marketing to Moms report, Forbes, Inc., The Huffington Post, and on the Today Show.

Moms are known to posture and say they’ve got everything under control. While it might be admirable, it’s not helpful – to moms or marketers. The Mom Complex’s goal is to get moms to get real. The Mom Complex gets moms to open up about what it’s really like to be a mom, and then the project gets the biggest companies in the world to pay attention. The more honest moms can be about their true needs and struggles, the more companies can help. The Mom Complex is out to change the world, one mom at a time.
