The Seventh Fire

Jack Riccobono

The Seventh Fire is an immersive, character-driven documentary that tells the story of two Ojibwe men caught between the violent rise of Native American criminal gangs and the struggle to maintain the traditions of their ancestors.

Gang culture has migrated from prisons and inner cities to the pastoral Indian reservations of northern Minnesota. The film seeks to bring attention to the most overlooked part of America.

The filmmakers have an outreach campaign in partnership with La Plazita Institute, a Native founded and run non-profit dedicated to re-connecting troubled Native youth with traditional ways.
