Black on the Bike

Black on the Bike

Project Director: Serene and Ray Dillman

A chance meeting between 13 year old Rahsaan Bahati and a track cycling coach in South Central Los Angeles touched off a revolution in American professional and amateur road cycling. With 21 national championships and over 200 race wins between them, Bahati, his protégé Justin Williams and brother Cory Williams are among the most dominant athletes in the sport of competitive road cycling. Their stories are just a hint of the American Black cycling experience. Black on the Bike is a celebration of Black cyclists from all over the United States, from Compton, California to Brooklyn, New York. The film will reveal a culture, a way of life, that just may be the sports world’s best kept secret.
